Overwhelming Response to Our Extreme Makeover Episode

As you may know, the Brown family from Wellman TX was recently featured on Extreme Makeover: Home Edition and the response has been, well it's simply been amazing!  As the spokesperson for the builder (Palm Harbor Homes) on the episode, I played a very small part of the show and I have been inundated with emails, calls, Tweets, Facebooks (is that a word?), text messages and even letters.  I keep checking the fax machine but so far none :) 

Kidding aside, the response has been amazing!  Overwhelming actually. But as hard a time as I have had keeping up with all the response, the Browns are dealing with it on a much larger scale.  So I want to try and help with communication at least, so the Browns can focus on hitting the road doing what they do best and love most - telling students about the life and death of Alex Brown.

Extreme Gratitude
On behalf of the Browns, as we reached 100,000 fans on Facebook we just simply want to say thank you to everyone for such an overwhelming response.  We are very humbled by the reaction, grateful but humbled. The only number that really ever mattered to us is the number ONE, for One more person hearing about the dangers of texting and driving but we are very grateful for the overwhelming number of people who are joining our cause.   Please help us spread the word :)

Here are some FAQs we are getting:

First, the most popular question:  Where can you get RAB Bands (thumb rings)?
We expected people to like the thumb rings but we were not prepared for the current demand!  We are thrilled that so many people want to help spread the message but we just simply did not anticipate this level of demand.   We have ordered a ton of RAB Bands and we will start by sending donors a small box of 10 RAB Bands for a minimum donation of $25.  You can go to www.extremephn.com and donate.  We will email you when they ship-which will take about three weeks. We will ship them to the address on your Paypal account.

What about RAB Rings for my school or group?
We can now offer the RAB Bands to schools and other groups in blocks of Rings. It basically works out to roughly $.50 per ring plus shipping .  For now, you can simply donate like always, by clicking on Donate on the website at www.extremephn.com and donate the dollar amount connected to the order size you want to place:
- 100 rings is $85
- 500 rings is $280
-1000 rings is $545
-1500 rings is $815
-2000 rings is $1100
Simply donate the dollar amount listed above that is connected to the order size and the rings will be automatically shipped to the person placing the order.  It will take 2-3 weeks for the order to be shipped. 

Second most popular question:  Can you come to my school?
They are working through their calendar as fast as they can so be patient but trust me, there is nothing they would rather do.  Once they have the chance, they will start contacting you based on where they will be so they can hit multiple schools in whatever direction they are heading.  This is why they are doing all of this so trust me, they will be at every school they can visit  - soon!

Third most popular question:  How can I get involved?
This one is simple:tell the world about Alex' story.  Share the story with friends and family. Ask all your Facebook friends to join the cause and ask them to also tell others. The Browns want to reach everyone they can about the dangers of texting and driving so they're not bashful about trying to tell anyone and everyone they can :)  Tell people to watch this intro video and then watch the episode in it's entirety (links below)

Fourth most popular thing we hear:  Please Keep Doing What You're Doing
They can also use any help you can offer financially.  They are a small organization and while they have very little overhead, they do need help from donors to make sure they keep Alex' truck on the road constantly.  They figure it costs about one dollar per student they reach so every dollar helps - literally!!!   You can donate one dollar or more by going to www.extremephn.com and clicking on donate.  They will put the money to good use.

Fifth most popular thing we hear:  Where can I sign the Pledge?
At our website at www.rememberalexbrownfoundation.org.  You can sign the pledge online or print it out and sign it - or both.  If you print it out, once you sign the pledge, we ask that you keep it as a constant reminder. 

Next most popular thing we hear: Please add Canada to the pledge form
It's in the works :)   But you can definitely print a copy and sign it.  The commitment is what matters.
